Mr. Lou Sabina - PRAX 111 Praxis I PPST
Mr. Lou L. Sabina has nearly completed his doctoral studies at the University of Pittsburgh specializing in research on how business practices have impacted education for both teachers and school leaders. Sabina taught business, mathematics, computer science, and law classes at the high school level for six years and served as an elementary school administrator for one year. Sabina currently works as an instructor at Point Park University and Butler County Community College in Pennsylvania in the business and education departments. Sabina has achieved PA Certification in the following subjects: Elementary Education (scoring 2 points below a perfect score), Educational Administration, Instructional Technology, Communications, Middle School Mathematics, Business, Accounting, Office Procedures, and Data Processing.
Mrs. Sari Harris - PRAX 113 Elementary Education
Mrs. Sari Harris has been an instructor with the Praxis program since moving to Pennsylvania from Indianapolis several years ago. Her time in the elementary and middle school classroom gives her great insight into the Praxis exams. Sari's move to PA prompted her to take the exams as she reciprocated her teaching license. Having taught every grade level from K-grade 8 and at the college level as well, Sari understands how to help students learn what is necessary to pass their Praxis exam and apply the concepts as well. Sari lives in Butler with her husband and 3 children.
Mrs. Laura Wilson - PRAX 114 Math and Science
Mrs. Laura Wilson majored in Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh and then returned to Pitt later to earn her M.B.A. Laura worked in the specialty metals and steel industry for 13 year before making a career change. In 2005, Laura earned a Masters in Arts & Teaching from Waynesburg College and PA certification in secondary math and middle school science. Laura also understands the anxiety associated with passing the Praxis II exam. Laura’s Praxis prep course will familiarize students with the testing format and help them assess your strengths and weaknesses in key subject areas. Laura’s course provides students with the resources and practice needed to thoroughly prepare for the High School and Middle School Content Exams. Students will be more prepared and confident!
Mrs. Kerry Miller - PRAX 115 English and Social Studies
Mrs. Kerry Miller finished her bachelor's degree in history from Minot State University in North Dakota. After returning to Pennsylvania, Kerry earned a master's degree in education from Waynesburg College where she obtained her PA teaching certificate in secondary social studies. Kerry is also certified in English, Spanish, earth and space science, middle school science, biology, health, environmental education, and library science. Kerry has been an instructor with the Butler County Community College Praxis program since 2006. She knows how stressful it can be to take the Praxis exams, but Kerry believes the key to overcoming test anxiety is preparation! Kerry provides students with great review materials and helps students focus their attention on key test areas.
Mrs. Holly Murphy - CREDIT Class EDUC 111 Praxis I PPST Prep
Mrs. Holly Murphy earned her Bachelor of Science Degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education at Grove City College and her Master's and Reading Specialist Certification at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. Holly currently teaches first grade in North Hills School District but also enjoys working with Praxis students through online courses and individual tutoring. She understands the hard work and preparation that goes into preparing for the exams and is dedicated to helping her students pass!
